Custom website or template: which pays off?

A template is quick and cheap to start. A custom website costs more but does exactly what you need. Neither route is wrong; it depends on what you expect from the site.

A template

  • Pros: a fast start, a lower price, ready-made features.
  • Cons: it looks like many others, you stay within what the template allows, there is often a monthly fee, and unused code slows loading.

A custom website

  • Pros: the look and features are yours, faster code, no template limits, the site belongs to you.
  • Cons: a higher price at the start and a longer preparation.

How to decide

  • Need to stand out from competitors? Custom.
  • Is a contact card enough? A template may do.
  • Want your own features (bookings, a calculator)? Custom.
  • Is the budget really small and the site will change soon? A template.
  • Do you care about speed on mobile? Custom is usually faster.

How we do it

We do not build templates. We design every site from scratch, and you see the design within three hours of the call, free, before you decide. Prices are in how much a website costs for a tradesperson.
