What an architect's website needs

An architect's website is a shop window. A client decides from it whether to call, and decides fast. So the site should show the work, not talk about it.

Projects first

The home page belongs to your best finished work: large, well-cropped photographs. For each project say briefly what it is, where, who the client was and what the brief was. Keep the text short and let the photos speak.

Who you are

A short page about the studio and its people. A client buys trust in specific people, so names and team photos help.

How to reach you

  • Phone and e-mail in a visible place, tappable on mobile.
  • A short form: what you plan, where, when.
  • An address and map if you receive clients at the studio.

The technical side you do not see

  • Fast loading even with large photos (right formats and sizes).
  • A mobile view where photos still look good.
  • Image descriptions and readable page addresses so search can find you.

What to avoid

  • Intro animations that delay the first image.
  • Generic slogans instead of concrete projects.
  • Out-of-date projects and empty pages.

Design proposals for studios are on websites for architects (Czech).
